RHOC's Rachel Lugo breaks silence on split from Nick following reunion bombshell
The reality star has remained quiet on social media since the dramatic reunion
EXCLUSIVE: Rachel Lugo has exclusively spoken to Closer Online about how her and boyfriend Nick are coping after that reunion bombshell.
Rachel Lugo is one of the longest reigning housewives in Cheshire arriving in series six and remaining a steadfast character ever since.
However, the reality star found herself at the centre of the reunion drama last series when her boyfriend Nick was accused of cheating, during a heated row with Dawn Ward.
Since then, Rachel has remained quiet on social media apart from sharing loved up snaps of herself and Nick, leading fans to believe they had managed to overcome the drama.
But speaking exclusively to Closer Online, Rachel has revealed she and Nick are no longer together and she's decided to leave the past behind her.
"I can exclusively confirm that I am now single. Me and Nick split up a couple of weeks ago," she said.
"It's really sad but we both agreed it was for the best, we're better off as friends, I think and we both deserve to be happy and we can't be happy together."
The Real Housewives Of Cheshire star admitted that the couple had been rowing more and more in recent months and it was starting to take its toll on both of them.
"As we were going on our relationship was becoming more strained and we were having more arguments. I think the reunion brought up a lot of issues that we still had from the past," she said.
"You know, when you're with someone for a long time, you have a lot of baggage and things that you can't let go of and it kind of got to a point where we just couldn't move on."
Rachel revealed that she is now ready to move on and is focusing on herself and her happiness.
"I'm just going to focus on me now and my happiness and my mental health and being a good mum to my kids and just see what the future holds," she said.
"I think I'm coming out of the other end of it now. I think it's a good time for new beginnings and I'm ready to move on with my life and I'm excited for the future."
